LAWRENCE WELCOMES NEW FIRE CHIEF LUKE PASTERSKI

The Town of Lawrence officially welcomed Luke Pasterski as the new Fire Chief on Monday night, as he was sworn in at the Lawrence Town Board meeting. Luke's first day as Fire Chief will be April 1, 2023.

Luke is a motivated, skilled, and educated person who has a passion for doing the right thing for the department and the community. He has a passion for employee training, succession planning, and seeking opportunities for process improvements.
Luke is a 29-year-veteran of the public safety service previously employed by: De Pere Fire Rescue (Battalion Chief), Ashwaubenon Public Safety (Lieutenant), Baraboo Fire Department (Fire Fighter), Baraboo District Ambulance Service (EMT), Baraboo Police Department (Police Officer). Luke has a wide variety of training, most notably a graduate of Certified Public Manager Program (University of WI-Madison) and Criminal Justice Executive Development Program (Fox Valley Technical College). He holds two associate degrees: one of Fire/Medic and other Police Science (Northeast Wisconsin Technical College). Other positions Luke has held are Brown County Fire Investigation Task Force-Assistant Team Leader, Northeast Wisconsin Emergency Medical Councils Chairperson and Field Training Commander.
Luke's professional achievements include the implementation of a department performance evaluation program, revised and implemented an personnel field training program, coordinated implementation of a canine emergency medical service program, revised and implemented a report review process, performed a department study on training and succession planning, Ashwaubenon PRIDE (Public Safety Professionalism, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Ethics Award) Award recipient, department study on staffing and deployment, and co-developed a field training software program.
Luke prides himself on being knowledgeable in many software programs/systems. He has a strong knowledge of public safety operations in Brown County along with professional working relationships with the stakeholders.
Luke's hobbies and Interests include spending time with his wife of 25 years, Heather and their two dogs Halle and Sage. He also enjoys camping, hiking, hunting, and fishing.
