CONGRATULATIONS SERGEANT RANDY RADLOFF!!!!

The Hobart-Lawrence Police Department's newest Police Sergeant - Randy Radloff - was officially sworn into office at Monday night's Lawrence Town Board meeting. Randy is originally from Northeast Iowa, and earned a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice Management from Concordia University and graduated from NWTC's Police Academy.

For the past 16 years, Randy has served in the United States Army and Army Reserves as a Military Police Officer. He is a Sergeant First Class, which is designated as the Army's first senior non-commissioned officer rank. Randy is also a Purple Heart recipient for wounds sustained during an explosive attack while deployed in Iraq.

Randy joined the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department in October 2012. During the past decade here, Randy has served as one of the main Field Training Officers (FTO). 'This position in any organization is critical to long-term organizational success as the FTO's set the tone for the organization's culture and reputation,' according to Police Captain Michael Renkas, who presided at the swearing-in ceremony. 'FTO's are often touted as being the most important role in an organization.' Randy also serves HLPD as a Scenario Instructor and Less Lethal Instructor.

Most importantly, Randy is married to his wife, Katherine. They have three kids, Aubrie, age 11; Grant, age five; and Hannah, age two. They are also expecting another child this July. Randy and his family reside in Hobart, and in his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities with his family.
A similar swearing in ceremony was held at a Hobart Village Board meeting on Tuesday May 17, 2022.

The Town Hall business hours will be changing to seasonal hours from May 31 - September 30.
New hours will be: Monday-Thursday 7:00am-4:00pm and Friday 7:00am-11:00am.
